Past Congress

Since the 1980s, we have organised over 20 section congresses around the world, covering relevant and timely topics spanning from clinical practice to research. This includes our 2014 meeting held in Nara, Japan – “Trauma and mental health” – which focused on the aftermath of the 2011 Fukushima Disaster. Our meetings include a plenary symposium, open poster sessions, brief oral presentations, and prizes. We always strive to invite influential speakers to our symposiums which are coherent with the annual theme. Some of the main presentations have been published in journals such as Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology. Our 19^th Congress, themed “Learning from diversities across the world: implications for psychiatric epidemiology” will take place in Marrakech, Morocco on 12-14 October 2022.
